Health & Fitness

Unit 5 / Session 4

What you’ll learn

Once you have completed a series of fitness tests, you can use the data to identify specific areas for improvement – you can set goals for what an individual wants to achieve and then use test data to track their progress.

Depending on the area of fitness to be improved, there are many different training methods that can be applied in order to support an individual to achieve their goals. During this Session, you will learn about:

  • Different training methods that can be used to support individual health and fitness goals
  • Heart rate training zones and how they can be used to support individual health and fitness goals
  • The use of different repetitions and sets to achieve different goals/outcomes

Think first!

Do you know any specific training methods that can be used to improve health and fitness? For example, if someone wanted to improve their speed, muscular strength or cardiovascular endurance, do you know how they could go about achieving this?
